Complexity of castings
Our company produces castings of complexity classes 1-3. In order to select and develop the optimal technological process for producing castings, to determine and assign accuracy standards, to assess the costs of materials, energy, labor, etc., it is necessary to classify the casting by design complexity, weight, dimensions, etc.
In foundry production, castings are classified based on the following characteristic features (inherent in all castings):
complexity of the surface configuration of the cast part;
weight of the cast part;
maximum overall size of the part;
thickness of the main wall of the cast part;
characteristics of projections, recesses, holes, etc. of the cast part, made by casting;
number of rods or inserts used in the manufacture of casting molds for one casting;
presence and nature of mechanical treatment of the casting surfaces;
responsibility for the purpose of the cast part;
special technical requirements imposed on the cast part.
