Casting using ready-made PPS models
The production of castings happens much faster when the customer provides ready-made polystyrene models. This type of collaboration eliminates the need for extensive technological and design research, which can significantly reduce the time required to manufacture the initial product and subsequent deliveries.
Model Assembly into Blocks
For this purpose, models are assembled into blocks that have a unified gating system. One block may contain between two and one hundred models. The connection of models in the fixture is done by mechanical fastening or gluing. At the same time, the gating system is cast.
Models are assembled into blocks (clusters) by gluing. The blocks of models are painted with a single layer of a special non-stick coating by immersion in a bath. The painted blocks are dried in a chamber at a temperature of 40-60°C for 2-3 hours.

Molding Pouring: Preparatory Stage
The molded shells are fed to the pouring section. The shells are connected to the vacuum system. A polyethylene film is placed over the molds. After the vacuum pump and gas purification system are turned on, the molding sand gains the required strength.
The metal is poured directly into the polystyrene risers. The hot metal burns (gasifies) the polystyrene and fills its space. The gases emitted are sucked through the paint layer into the sand by the vacuum system. The metal precisely duplicates the shape of the polystyrene block with the models.
Casting: Cooling Stage
The poured blocks of models cool in the sand for 5 minutes to several hours, depending on the thickness of the casting, the mass of the part, and the technical conditions specified by the technological process.
After the blocks are removed from the shell and the castings are cut from the gating system, they are cleaned from any remaining non-stick coating residues.
