Despite the vast assortment of parts offered by manufacturers, not all customers and buyers can find exactly what they need. In this case, an excellent solution would be to order metal casting according to the customer’s drawings.

This is the perfect option to carry out any projects requiring metal cast parts. The specialists of our enterprise will perform the work promptly with the highest quality of the finished product. It is worth emphasizing the adherence to all dimensions, nuances, and configurations when manufacturing parts of any complexity. This service is extremely in demand by manufacturers of various machines, mechanisms, equipment, and other products, up to garden sculptures.

Features of Part Casting

The production of parts according to drawings provided by the customer is particularly in demand in production sectors, industrial enterprises, oil refining, and others.

The part casting process consists of several sequential stages:

    Drawings Received from the Customer

  • Providing prepared drawings from the customer to the manufacturer. Then, the documentation goes to an engineer who brings all necessary values to the appropriate standards and determines the further production process. If necessary, changes are made to the documentation without compromising the part’s purpose. The customer is informed of all changes;
  • Creating a 3D Model of the Part

  • After the documentation is confirmed, the enterprise’s engineers begin calculating the workpiece for manufacturing the part. This takes into account the necessary technological processes and allowances for subsequent machining. Specialized software is used for these calculations. It should also be noted that fitting the part to the corresponding production cycle takes time, additional work, and possibly additional costs. This is discussed when preparing the routing documentation;
  • The next stage of work is the production of the mold, direct casting into molds, and processing on a CNC machine to achieve the required shape;

Advantages of Custom Part Casting

Turning to an industrial enterprise with developed infrastructure and production base offers many advantages:

  • Engineers and technologists;
  • Own material and human resources;
  • Professional approach;
  • Manufacturing parts of any complexity on a professional basis;
  • Cost from the manufacturer;
  • Consultations and project refinements;
  • Documentary support;
  • Compliance with requirements;

If inaccuracies arise in the manufacturing process that do not significantly violate the requirements and generally comply with the order, the customer decides whether to accept the work or not. In the latter case, the workpiece undergoes necessary changes in the technological process to achieve compliance with the order. In any case, the quality of manufacturing will be high. At a certain stage, a controller begins to monitor the part manufacturing process. The engineer-technologist tracks all stages of work until the order is delivered to the customer. Accordingly, the controlling specialists bear full responsibility for the quality of the product. The customer can also monitor the process.

All aspects and nuances of interaction between the customer and the manufacturer are outlined in the contract, as well as the part release date and additional information.

It is quite possible that the customer may make changes to the part during its production. In this case, the possibility of such changes at the current stage is determined. The customer is informed of the degree of readiness, and ways to adjust the product according to the new requirements are sought. This can significantly slow down the production process and require additional costs. If such a possibility exists, the customer signs a contract for adjusting the order manufacturing according to the updated drawings.

Manufacturing of Cast Parts

This order, under certain conditions, can be fulfilled in a special department of the enterprise, for example, when there is no need for factory testing. If such a need exists, an experimental sample is initially produced, which will be tested for compliance. The testing stage is carried out in most cases in the presence of the customer. Depending on the result, the customer can provide their conclusion. Representatives of processing workshops and technologists are also present at such processes, recording the customer’s wishes and determining the possibility of adjusting the part if such a requirement is put forward by the customer. As a result, a new sample is prepared, which is also subjected to factory testing.

The production of experimental samples will continue until full compliance with the customer’s requirements and production standards is achieved. Ultimately, a complete refinement of the drawings and documentation is created, according to which the production of cast parts according to the customer’s drawings will take place.

In industrial production, all additional work is documented in the relevant contracts. This is due to the need to legalize the production of a range of works, production time, and resource expenditures. However, considering the economic effect of implementing the finished product into operation at the designated location, all production costs are recouped, and the part begins to generate profit.

Metal is characterized by high reliability and durability, and these qualities are naturally transferred to the products made from it. In the vast majority of cases, it is not possible to produce these parts from another material.

Until the testing procedure is completed, it is best to suspend all processes and wait for the final results.

If the launch of parts into mass production was already planned, but the deadlines have been postponed for technical reasons, it is necessary to draw up a new contract based on the actual production and testing timelines of the experimental samples.

In any case, the resumption of custom part manufacturing begins after thorough testing of experimental samples, performing corrective work, creating new drawings, and drawing up the relevant contracts.
